“Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal (l1c63x64.sys)” BSOD in Windows 10
Hi, today we will talk about an issue that was pretty persistent on my machine using Windows 10. I searched the internet for a solution and found various “solutions” which didn’t seem to work since the Diagnosis was wrong (hence the solution would be wrong). The solution is much simpler than anybody would expect and it takes about 5 minutes to fix. First of all we need to clarify what this specific .sys file does. This is a driver and specifically for an onboard Ethernet Qualcomm Atheros AR8151 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller. This is a crappy error which can happen at any moment (gaming….. especially gaming)

The problem exists with the driver that is used within Windows 10 repositories (which use the version 2.1.0.16). So, updating the driver will fix the problem. . So here is a quick and dirty tutorial on how to update the driver.
     1)      Download the driver from here (in case you are wondering I have linked the official Atheros site download link)

     2)      Unzip all the files in a folder in a folder of your choice (do confirm the filename from the picture and CRC32 numbers to be safe).
      So from this:

         You should get this:

    3)      Finally let’s install the driver:
        i)  Type This PC at your start menu, right click and select Properties

ii)    Select Device Manager

iii)                 Under Network adapters select the proper device (for any of you that have ADD it would be the Qualcomm Atheros AR8151 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller), right click it and select Properties

iv)                 Select the Driver Tab and click on update driver.

 v)                   The great Wizard will appear! Select Browse my computer for driver software

vi)                 Click Browse and go to the folder where you unzipped your files and select next.

vii)               Your machine will notify you that Windows has successfully updated your drivers with the following message:

  4)              That’s it! Congratulations! You have updated your drivers and you have fixed the                            l1c63x64.sys BSOD issue. In order to confirm that the update is complete redo steps
3)iii) and 3)iv) and make sure that the version number has changed to 2.1.0.26.

  Enjoy!
